Are Magura brake levers interchangeable?
Magura MT6, MT7, and MT Trail brakes all use the same, HC lever compatible, master cylinder. Just pop up the thin plastic covers to access the press fit pin holding the lever in place.

Can you use Shimano rotors with Magura brakes?
Registered. I switch wheels between magura rotors and shimano rotors and it works fine. I prefer the magura rotors though as that extra thickness is reassuring. You do have to pump the brakes up once or twic at most to get them to settled.
How good are Magura?
Magura’s four-pot MT5 brakes are seriously powerful, once the pads are bedded in, making them an excellent choice on a gravity-focused bike. What’s more, their price is seriously competitive. The brakes have a softer, spongier feel, with less of an initial bite, perhaps due to a slightly flexier lever blade.
