Can you paint a felt letter board?
Start by taping off your letter board really well with painter’s tape. Then you can follow the directions on the fabric spray and paint the felt part of the letter board. Whether you’re using the letters that come with the board or the extra letters, you can start to paint those gold with spray paint.

- Cut wood down to size.
- Using a table saw to run a channel down the middle of the wood, set it about 1/4″ deep.
- Screw in pop tabs to backside, 8″ in from each side.
- Using a level and measuring tape, mark holes for accuracy.
- Hang up 9.5″ apart or add 1.5″ to your letter height.

Letter boards are made of felt which means, sadly, that it attracts dust. But this is easy to clean up with a lint roller. Since my board is white (and everything shows on it including stains from a certain toddler), I’ve used a damp rag to clean up any spots. Another thing that can happen is pilling.
How do you remove letters from letter board?
Don’t fret, all you need to do is run your lint roller over the letter board & they will magically disappear! Also sometime later, you may notice that your letter board have some visible furring/fuzz. It could happen when anyone rubs the felt too hard which causes the furring.
