Our colors are Crimson and Cream and our mission statement is as follows: Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is an organization of college educated women committed to the constructive development of its members and to public service with a primary focus on the Black community.
Why is the delta symbol an elephant?
Many years ago, Delta Founder, Florence Letcher Toms, began collecting trunk-up elephants as a symbol of good luck. In her honor these beautiful creatures came to be an unofficial symbol for the sorority.
How many hours do you need to pledge Delta Sigma Theta?
Current students are eligible to apply for Delta Sigma Theta if they have completed at least 36 quarter hours or 24 semester hours in a recognized baccalaureate program. Students pursuing an associate degree are not eligible.
