Anytime an enemy vessel attacks, use L1 to duck to the deck, mitigating and often times outright preventing the damage. Stay far away from the enemy ships, fire arrows when it’s safe, and use L1 to avoid most of their fire. These small ships like to try and ram you, which can cause issues.
