We continue our series of reviews of the latest music releases. In August we have not yet been noticed really loud and important records, but among the things that came out, you can find beautiful music.
Cymbals Eat Guitars – Lose
The new York band delivers third album of noisy, cheeky and unrestrained Groovy rock in the style of the 90s. With their sparse musical space meet at times haunting melodies and very unusual musical passages, but this does not bother because of the General good spirit broke records. Perfect music for a cold end of summer!
Mark Lanegan Band – No Bells On Sunday EP
Mark Lanegan – shadow the legend of grunge: sang in the once great Seattle band Screaming Trees, saw everything, was everything, but survived, and over the years has gone from grunge to the gloomy and majestic Blues. His new record is five songs, among which is a place of fashion and electronics, and soulful country music, and loud rock, and, of course, that the infernal Blues. Despite the short duration is a strong entry.
J Mascis – Tied to a Star
Jay masks are with is, if anyone knows, the leader of the legendary alternative band Dinosaur Jr., bringing a splash in the 90s. Now they still rustle, but no longer so, and the leader took them and recorded an album of gentle folk. It turned out not that much original, but masterful, tenacious and extremely sincere. Well and branded melody J. Mascis with nothing to confuse, as his trademark noisy guitar, sometimes emerging in the background.
Alex Clare – Three Hearts
You have every reason to hate that red bearded: not only that his song “Too close” sounded from each iron, so it still sounds the is Internet Explorer! However, at a large distance Alex Clare found himself as a much more interesting performer. Sounds on this album of soul mixed with assorted modern electronics, there are wonderful soft acoustic rhythms exude the groove, rare specks dubstep forum drop not annoying. In short, a good strong release, and to hell with it with Internet Explorer.
The Ting Tings – Super Critical
Remember the smash hit “Shut up and let me go”? And the group is already the third album claims to be. The second was a woeful failure, but the new one turned out great: the usual electropop added a touch of funk – and all became as it should.
Alvvays – Alvvays
In Canada, the summer was better than ours – or as this group would have recorded a wonderful album? Guitars ring in the space, singing birds, and the leaping girl voice, “Hey, Hey, marry me, oh, Archie”. You already marry her, Archie, and this song is never going to let us go.
